An Entertaining Day of Pure Enjoyment and Spiritual Upliftment

July 10th was the day that Dannion Brinkley made his long awaited visit to Vancouver and what an experience for me!

It started off with a energetic ceremony to the Four Directions, grounding song and prayer by Leonard Eagle Cloud to honour the Burrard and Squamish peoples whose ancestral land we were sitting on. It was important to Dannion that we do this sacred ritual; his contention is that the native tribes of North America are the only ones that have kept a spiritual relationship with the land and all life. We were then treated to a meditative grounding attunement by Diane Ruth Shewmaker to further prepare us for the work Dannion would be doing with us on an energy level. By this time I was feeling very relaxed and happy and as I looked around the room I saw a lot of smiles. I knew we would all enjoy what was to follow and, wow, did we ever.

Using great humour Dannion commenced to remind us about the sacred spiritual non-physical energetic consciousness which is univeral and affects all life. He illustrated this by telling us about his near-death experiences after having been hit by lightening. He found out first hand that he did not die energetically. He did not go to 'heaven'; he did not go to 'hell' - these are only fear concepts taught by religions to keep us ignorant of our real identity in order to control our behaviour. Dannion had only changed his body from a physical one to his true energetic one! However, what did happen was that he had a "life review" that was fascinating to hear about.

He went on to tell us about the responsibilities we all have in using this innate gift of spiritual consciousness. Since we are related to all of life it is so very important that we treat everything with love and respect because every action causes a reaction--the law of cause and effect. This is the only way we will create 'heaven' or 'hell'.

Dannion has since had two more near-death experiences. These can be read about in his wonderful books "Saved By the Light" and "At Peace in the Light". He is currently writing a third one to update us on his teachings and activities.

I felt Dannion's stories, observations and wisdom were incredible revelations for us all and there was a sense of joy for me (and many others) as we pondered his words.

In closing off the workshop, Leonard Eagle Cloud and Diane Ruth Shewmaker led us again in grounding exercises to bring us down from the excitement of the day.
